Camp Swatara is owned and operated by the Atlantic Northeast District Church of the Brethren and is a member of the Outdoor Ministries Association of the Church of the Brethren. The purpose of Camp Swatara is to provide opportunities in the natural setting for persons of all ages to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, so that they may give their lives to Him in total discipleship. COBYS Family Services is a Christian agency, affiliated with the Atlantic Northeast District of the Church of the Brethren. Founded in 1979 as a teen foster care program, they originally were named Church of the Brethren Youth Services (COBYS). Over more than a quarter century of service, they have grown into a comprehensive family ministry that now includes adoption and foster care services, counseling, family life education, a permanency program, and a teen mother and child group home. The Ecumenical Food Pantry is a food pantry that receives donations from many Central PA churches and is housed in the basement of Messiah Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, PA. Volunteers from many churches help staff the Ecumenical Food Pantry on a monthly basis. The Ecumenical Food Pantry provides emergency food supplies for those in need by giving recipients emergency three-day supplies of food once every 30 days.
