There were the chapters of names. Endless names. Unpronounceable names.
There were the lists of kings and their faithless reigns of murdering rival officials, rival siblings, sacrificing children, building altars to false gods.
There were the high points of king David, Solomon the Man of Peace, Hezekiah and Josiah.
We looked at the importance of worship, the welcoming of outsiders, God’s movement towards Shalom and at faithfully seeking God.
There is a lot in Chronicles for us to be looking at and learning from. Even in a book that gets skipped over and forgotten, there is a Spirit that is alive and active, teaching, rebuking, correcting and training us still so many centuries later.
